Local Business of the Month Program
Having been a part of the local landscape for 39 years, the Ithaca Montessori School strives to create strong bonds between our diverse families and our fertile local community. We interact and support the local economy through collaborations with some of the most unique businesses in our area through this program.

Every month we feature a business that is both local and unique. Some have educational and/or cultural aspects; others are artistic, creative or display a unique entrepreneurial spirit. We partner with businesses who enrich the educational experience at the school, and whose products or services are affordable and useful to our community. We promote the business and a portion of IMS-related proceeds benefits the school.

This is a new model of collaboration between schools and businesses.
Most of the time, schools approach businesses for donations while rarely providing any tangible benefits to the business. Naturally, this creates a sense of wariness when businesses face requests from schools. Our reciprocal program is designed to form sustainable collaborations, creating win-win-win-win situations: the school, the parents, the children, and the businesses, all benefit without making financial commitments of uncertain results.
